PETALING JAYA, Apr 16 (MySinchew) -- The following are the highlights of the 14th general elections for the day:

RAFIDAH AZIZ HAS resigned as Supermax Corporation Berhad chairman on "personal reasons" effective April 14.

WANITA UMNO CHAIRPERSON Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil refuted talks that she would stand in Bandar Tun Razak.

However, she said BN could beat PKR in the parliamentary seat.

INCUMBENT BN REPS will defend their seats in the 14th general elections with the exception of those unable to contest due to personal or health reasons.

PM Najib is expected to announce the electoral candidates on either April 22 or 23.

INCUMBENT MEMBER OF Parliament for Klang Charles Santiago said in a press conference that he had received ten counts of complaints from local residents, including two Tanjung Karang voters who had been "moved" to Kamunting, Perak, while the names of three non-voters appeared on the electoral roll.

TUN DR MAHATHIR Mohamad will appear in a Pakatan Harapan rally in Teluk Intan on Monday night.

He is expected to officially announce Nga Kor Ming as the opposition pact's candidate against the incumbent representative, Gerakan Rakyat president Mah Siew Keong.

Also expected to appear in tonight's rally are Lim Guan Eng, Lim Kit Siang, Mat Sabu and Nurul Izzah.
