Yeoh accused of proselytizing Muslims through autobiography

  • Yeoh's book is said to have a Christian agenda with quotes from the Bible intended to incite Muslims to become a member of a non-Islamic religion.

PETALING JAYA, May 18 (MySinchew) -- Universiti Utara Malaysia lecturer Dr Kamarul Zaman Yusoff yesterday lodged a police report against Selangor state legislative assembly speaker Hannah Yeoh, accusing her of attempting to proselytize Muslims through her autobiography Becoming Hannah

Yeoh's book is said to have a Christian agenda with quotes from the Bible intended to incite Muslims to become a member of a non-Islamic religion and thus, disrupt social harmony.

In defense of Yeoh, Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng said Kamarul had contravened the Federal Constitution's provision protecting individuals' freedom of religious affiliation.

Meanwhile, lawyer Azhar Harun wrote on his Facebook that Malays would not become Christians by reading a book on the religion, and even if they read the Koran, they may not become good Muslims.
