KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (MySinchew) -- IGP Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah was released today.
Maria Chin was released at about 4.30 p.m. this afternoon from Bukit Aman police headquarters.
The police said in a subsequent statement that the investigations on Maria Chin would go on although there was no mention of the actual reason for her release.
Arriving home after being detained under SOSMA for ten days, Maria Chin was received with warm hugs from her sister and three children.
Former Bersih chairperson Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan shared the pictures of Maria Chin hugging her family members when she reached home this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Bersih 2.0 tweeted that they would still meet at Dataran Merdeka at 8.00 p.m. tonight while the gathering outside Kuala Lumpur High Court tomorrow is canceled.
